Focus List of Data Defined The Community Profiles carried on the DevelopmentAlliance.com are submitted and maintained by cities and towns across the US using the IEDC site selection data standards. A complete Community Profile database (view sample) will exceed 1,200 data elements. We realize that the prospect of completing the database in its entirety can be daunting. In collaboration with DevelopmentAlliance.com, the Global Location Strategy practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers (now Global Location Strategies/Plant Location International, IBM Business Consulting Services) developed a Focus List of Data Tables recommended to be first priority when populating your community's database. We hope this information will help you to expedite the task and get your community online as quickly as possible. Most of the data on the list is not readily available through third party data vendors. But it is generally available at the local level. The list is not exhaustive and is not meant to replace the entire community database. It does, however, represent what a leading group of location consultants consider being critical and hopefully restrictive enough not to prove burdensome.
